10U Red Sox Win Bank Midwest Tournament

The 10U Mac-N-Seitz Red Sox won the Bank Midwest Tournament at Johnson County 3&2 this past weekend. The Red Sox won the tournament with a 5-0 record.

Every player on the roster played a significant role in the tournament. Several times throughout the tournament the Red Sox were faced with difficult circumstance but battled through them with aggressive base running, solid defense, and timely hitting. Three games were won by the Red Sox in their final at bat including the Championship Game against the Mac-N-Seitz Indians, where the score was 10-9.

Several comments were made about how great a game the championship was between the Red Sox and Indians. Both teams gave an amazing effort and unfortunately one team had to lose. Both teams were playing their 3rd game of a very long windy day. Parents, players and coaches should be extremely proud of the effort given by both teams. The Red Sox players, coaches and parents tip their hat to the Indians players and coaches for their play.

The Indians suffered an injury to one of their players Friday before the tournament and played valiantly with only 9 boys all weekend.

This week the Red Sox look to extend their current 5 game winning streak in the Lake Shawnee Spring Fling in Topeka, Kansas.
