Antonio spent six years in Lawrence, Kan., at the University of Kansas, playing as a Jayhawk for two seasons before medically retiring. He spent the next two years as an undergraduate assistant coach for KU, staying on staff as a Graduate Assistant while earning an MA in Sports Management. At KU, Garcia worked with catchers, infielders and hitters and also assisted with camps.

After KU, Antonio coached for Gonzaga University (2022), primarily assisting with hitters and infielders during his time with the Bulldogs.

He is a Bay Area native who spent every summer since undergrad coaching and training baseball players.
