Tyler graduated from Crosby High School (Crosby, TX) where he lettered in Baseball. Tyler attended Ottawa University (Ottawa, KS) where he played baseball all four years of his college career. Tyler was an outfielder and catcher with Ottawa University.

Tyler has been a private baseball and softball instructor for 3+ years. He coached a 16U baseball team for Mac N Seitz the last two seasons. He will coach a 14U and 16U team this summer for Mac N Seitz.
